On Monday, Andy Jassy, who succeeded Jeff Bezos as CEO, acknowledged these challenges by introducing a series of new initiatives aimed at addressing them. Among these, the most controversial is a new five-day return-to-office mandate set to begin in January. This policy marks a significant shift from the current hybrid work model, which has required employees to be in the office three days a week since May 2023.

Jassy argued that the benefits of in-office work are substantial, including enhanced collaboration, brainstorming, and team cohesion.
