Enhanced Power and Performance
Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the GT63 Pro 4Matic, a track-focused variant of the second-generation AMG GT, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K. The car boasts a 4.0-liter V-8 engine, delivering 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, marking an increase of 26 hp and 37 pound-feet over the existing GT63. This model also features substantial cooling improvements and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard, with optional track-biased Cup R tires. Despite these enhancements, the GT63 Pro maintains a 3.1-second acceleration to 60 mph but is 0.5 seconds faster from zero to 124 mph, achieving this benchmark in just 10.9 seconds.
Aerodynamic Upgrades and Cooling Enhancements
The Mercedes-AMG GT63 Pro 4Matic includes significant aerodynamic modifications and cooling enhancements aimed at improving track performance. A fixed rear wing in carbon fiber and additional air deflectors under the car optimize airflow over the underbody and rear diffuser. While AMG has not provided overall downforce figures, they claim a reduction of 66 pounds in aerodynamic lift over the front axle and an increase of 33 pounds in downforce at the rear. The Pro also features double high-temperature radiators at the front and separate radiators for the front and rear differentials. The electronically controlled transfer case, which distributes torque to each axle, is also actively cooled. The larger side intakes in the front bumper further enhance brake cooling.
Track-Ready Features with Everyday Usability
The Mercedes-AMG GT63 Pro 4Matic retains the active dynamic systems of the regular GT63, including rear-axle steering, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential at the rear, and adaptive dampers with hydraulic cross-linking to reduce roll during cornering. Standard 21-inch forged alloy wheels come with a choice of Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires or track-focused Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires at no additional cost. According to AMG boss Michael Schiebe, the Pro is designed to excel on the track while maintaining comfort and usability for daily driving. Deliveries of this 2025 model are expected to begin early next year, with the GT63 Pro set to become a significant addition to the expanding AMG family.
