April 16 Payouts Scheduled for Group 3 Beneficiaries
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is set to disburse payments to Group 3 beneficiaries on April 16, 2025. This group includes individuals whose birth dates fall between the 11th and 20th of any month. Social Security payments are distributed in stages based on recipients’ birthdates, ensuring a staggered and organized delivery each month.
These payments offer critical financial support to retirees, as well as individuals receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), such as survivors and people with disabilities. SSI benefits are typically issued at the beginning of each month and are intended for elderly, blind, or disabled individuals with limited income and resources.
For those in Group 3, this week’s payment marks an important financial milestone, especially for those reliant on government benefits to manage monthly expenses. The next scheduled payment will be made on April 23 for Group 4 recipients—individuals born between the 21st and 31st of any month.
How Much Will You Receive? Factors That Affect Your Payment
The amount beneficiaries receive from social security payments varies significantly based on retirement age and eligibility criteria. Those retiring at the full retirement age of 67 can receive up to $4,018 per month. However, choosing early retirement results in a reduced benefit—approximately $2,831 monthly. On the other hand, delaying retirement until age 70 could increase the benefit to as much as $5,108 per month.
SSI benefits, however, depend on different factors including income level, type of disability, and household composition. The maximum monthly SSI benefit for an individual is $967, while a couple may receive up to $1,450. These payments play a crucial role in supporting those who cannot maintain full-time employment due to age or disability.
If any beneficiary misses a scheduled payment, the SSA advises waiting for three business days before contacting the agency. Individuals can reach out for assistance by calling the SSA at 1-800-772-1213.
SSA Updates Claim Process for Better Accessibility and Security
In addition to regular payment updates, the SSA recently announced changes aimed at improving accessibility and fraud prevention. Earlier, the agency had mandated that new benefit claims be submitted in person, particularly for individuals unable to use the SSA’s online portal. However, a recent policy shift now allows all types of claims to be completed via telephone.
Starting April 14, 2025, the SSA began offering full support for telephone-based claim processing. The update is part of a broader modernization effort to make social security payments services more accessible while enhancing anti-fraud measures.
“We are modernizing how we serve the public – enhancing both security and accessibility,” said SSA Acting Commissioner Leland Dudek. “These updates improve our ability to detect and prevent fraud while providing more flexible options for people to access their benefits.”
This shift reflects the SSA’s commitment to ensuring that all eligible Americans can access the financial support they need—safely and conveniently—especially in an increasingly digital age.
